Economics of ending poverty: 0.7% of GNI is all it takes!

Should We Contribute To Other Countries While American Citizens Are Starving/Dying?

America is burdened with a failing economy, the worst unemployment levels in over two decades, the Afghanistan war, the Iraq war, the ARM scam/mortgage meltdown, and the worst environmental disaster this country has ever experienced.

Now add "the ignored fact" that the people of the Gulf of Mexico/entire region has been poisoned with a chemical so toxic it has been banned in every other country, yet the American Government not only allowed it, but is involved in the biggest nastiest over-up of American history.

While I like the concept behind the story I am highly concerned for the American citizens needs.

Other countries might be in a better position to help then America is.

We are strapped and struggling. We are without jobs, without food, without medicine.

Our Seniors who served their lives working hard keeping this country a float are dying from lack of basic needs. Most on social security are living well below the national poverty level.

Quoting Margaret Bryan-Curole "America was once the Greatest Nation on Earth, now we are the Laughing Stock of the World".

Can we really afford to help other countries at this time, or is it time for Americans to focus on America?
