FDA Seafood Testing Procedures Called Inadequate For Gulf Residents

FDA Seafood Testing Procedures Called Inadequate For Gulf Residents
quote "The lab results showed there was "organic matter as hydrocarbons" or, as written on the chemical analysis report, "oil and grease" in the digestive tracks in the amount of 193 parts per million. "

A surreal situation, the fishermen and residents are showing us how dangerous Gulf Seafood is, meanwhile we have the FDA and other government agencies not only telling us to eat up, but now they are trying to purchase it by the tons to serve to American troops and school lunches of our children.

We can only pray that these folks have the strength to continue the fight. Meanwhile the White House continues with plans (or so they report) to consume 2,000 pounds of Gulf Seafood during their holiday meals. Some have reported that just because that seafood came from the Gulf, doesn't mean it was "caught" in the Gulf.

The most uplifting part of the article for me was the information regarding testing kits for Gulf residents, shown in the quote below.

"Testing kits promoted

The Bucket Brigade is also trying to support the communities most affected by passing out kits that will let residents do their own testing of seafood. Brabeck recently did so in Grand Isle."
